WORKING HOLIDAY MAKERS

If you hold a passport for one of the following countries and are aged between 18 and 31 years and have never had a Working Holiday Visa for Australia, you are eligible for a stay of 12 months to live and work downunder.  The visa can be applied for and granted within four weeks and you have up to 12 months to enter Australia after the visa has been granted.

BELGIUM, CANADA, DENMARK, FINLAND, FRANCE, ITALY, NORWAY, SWEDEN, THE NETHERLANDS, THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND, THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND, ESTONIA, GERMANY, JAPAN, MALTA, HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRAIVE REGION PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA, REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, TAIWAN.


The service provided here will list your details for Australian employers who may wish to contact you to offer employment before you leave for Australia or whilst you are there.

The benefit of this is that it allows you to plan your working holiday with some certainty in advance.  You can work for any one employer for a maximum of six months and we will shortly be listing details of employers on “the harvest trail”. working for these employers for three months in the first twelve will allow you to apply for a further 12 month working holiday visa.

CONDITIONS FOR THE
WORKING HOLIDAY VISA (SUBCLASS 417)

The holder of a working holiday visa to Australia must not work for any one employer for more than six months during their stay.

To apply for a further working holiday maker visa, a further stay of 12 months while in Australia, a visa holder must work for a minimum of three months on ‘seasonal work’ in a ‘regional area’ of Australia and must have evidence from the employers involved to demonstrate this.

The definitions of ‘seasonal work’ and ‘regional area’ are set  out  in a Gazette Notice
